Level 1 Tetun Course (Oct-Dec 2021)

Monday October 4, 2021 - Tuesday December 7, 2021

Mon 5pm OR Tues 11am AEST, for 10 weeks

online

Tutor Dr Trent Newman

$300.00

This course assumes no prior knowledge of Tetum, although some students join this course with some minimal experience with the language. The course provides a foundational understanding of the Tetum language, working through some basic grammatical structures (pronouns, forming questions, negation, etc.) and practicing dialogue concerning everyday topics (meeting people, giving directions, buying and selling in the market, etc.). Learning is supported through homework activities that include analysis of short, simple texts (video, audio, written) that illustrate the Tetum content being learned.

The level 1 course will run on either or both of these times, depending on student numbers and time preferences.

Monday 5pm AEST, and Tuesday 11am AEST.

*NOTE- we will also run a ‘Tetun consolidation’ course if there is enough interest. This is for students who have done level one or have a bit of Tetun, and would like to consolidate their knowledge before moving on to level 2. Please contact Katrina at [email protected] to express your interest in this course.

Once you have enrolled online, we will contact you to enrol you in your preferred time.
